Location Blog: When finding the ideal location for this commercial, I was stuck between a 2 main options. The first option (option 1) was Bayview Park. This is a local park near my house which I frequently practice at. I have easy access to the fields most of the time. One main conflict is other teams practicing on the field which they have priority to use the field. Another downside is that the fields are smaller than usual and there are only 2. The second option (option 2) was Holiday Park. This park is also somewhat local relative to my house. One downside is the drive to this park is usually longer due to traffic. This park has 5 different baseball fields to use. All of them are the correct size for my age level. However, one conflict are that a lot of younger teams practice on these fields because of Little League. Little League is a youth baseball organization. These teams get priority of the fields at all times, and have practice throughout the day. I had to take this into consi...

Rescheduling Blog: Finding the best day to film was very difficult. During fall, in Florida there is a lot of rainfall. The baseball field easily floods and I wouldn't be able to utilize it for the commercial if there were puddles. It could be dangerous to practice on a wet field with mud. The baseballs would also get ruined and that wouldn't be ideal. It was difficult to find a day where there was no weather conditions that I was free to film. Another big component was the time I was in school. School starts at 7:40 am and ends at 2:40pm. I also have practice Monday, Wednesday, and Friday right after school. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I have physical therapy for my shoulder. It was challenging to find a day to film. I thought the weekends would work, however my groupmates were unable to film. I needed to find a day where I was able to film during the daytime. On Saturday the 12th, I was free to film because my high school baseball practice was cancelled. The weather looked very...

Editing Blog: After filming, all the scenes were in the correct order. The editing process focused on cutting the clips down to the desired duration. All the editing was done on my computer on a special editing software. I combined all 6 of the clips I had. This whole film actually exceeded the 30 second limit. I was concerned at first but then I remembered how we actually filmed a little extra before and after each scene. This made it easier during the editing process. I was able to cut down the clips in order to get that desired 30 seconds. The scene where I am putting on the gloves was actually sped up because it seemed sloppy with such a long version of that scene. I decided to add some music over some of the hitting clips because it would engage the audience better. I also had to cut down the dugout scene and make it a quick interaction. I added a sound effect in the 4th scene after the ball was hit. This gave it a dramatic effect. In the final scene I had to add in Franklin'...

Filming Blog: On thursday the 18th, I began filming the commercial with my group . At first I was worried that the field would be occupied but it ended up working out perfectly . My group members and I dressed in athletic clothing which I already had at my house, so I just wore it to the field . I also brought some of the props for the filming. The other props were provided by Parker, he had actually brought the batting gloves because mine had ripped. The weather conditions could not of been more ideal. It was partly cloudy and not too hot. Before filming we laid everything out and reviewed our storyboard template. I suggested that we film the scenes in order because it would be easier and faster. I was in a bit of a time crunch because I had a chemistry test the next day and I wanted to do some last minute studying before. When my groupmates arrived I discussed how everything would play out. I told them who would be filming, and what camera angles for each clip. I set aside the p...

Storyboard Blog

First Scene- During this scene we will be filming our actors struggle while practicing. This will be a wide shot and will show our actors in motion. The location of the shot is on the baseball field. Our actors will be having batting practice on the field. We wanted to include a scene that will showcase how the players are underperforming without the gloves. Second Scene- Next scene in our commercial the players walk into the dugout with great disappointment. We wanted to include a spectator giving the players many pairs of batting gloves to use because it will boost their confidence. The location for this scene is in the dugout of the baseball field. Third Scene- In this scene, the players will try on the batting gloves. This will be in the dugout still with an extreme close up. Fourth Scene-  During this scene the players go back to practicing, but this time they aren't struggling. The players are performing well and are excited because of this. The location of this is on the bas...

Our Pitch

Image
Our Pitch -September 12th, 2025 Pitch 1: An advertisement of three baseball players using a pair of Franklin baseball gloves to showcase the usefulness of the bat. We would be interested in filming this pitch. We believe that this sport themed pitch would be a great fit for a project like this. We all are great ballplayers and would not have trouble filming this commercial. We also live close to a baseball park and have easy access to it. This commercial would give us a good opportunity to showcase our talents with the sport and have some fun while doing this project, since we all take pride in the sport. Pitch 2: An advertisement of an Apple iPhone showcasing the unique and superior features of the newer model. We would not really be interested in filming this pitch. We believe that this pitch would be difficult to execute properly. We all have different models of the iPhone and they are slightly damaged, this makes it difficult to make a proper commercial. However, we have the kn...

Today, I'll discuss the commercial. For this project I decided to work with two of my close friends. Their names are Parker and Lincoln. It will be easy for us to record since we all frequently see eachother outside of school and have similar schedules from school activities. This project will be a good learning experience and will determine how well we can work together. I've collaborated with many other peers numerous amounts of times in the past. Group work has always helped extend my knowledge on the topic. I believe it is helpful and somewhat necessary to discuss and provide insights from different perspectives. In my opinion this helps develop my understanding. There are some downsides to group work. For example, I have to trust that my group members will do their part and make sure to complete their work in a timely manner. Also, I need to make sure my group members are in agreeance with the proposed topic/idea. In contrast, the benefits actually outweigh the negatives....
