Production Blog: Review Pt.1 On Saturday, the 28th of February, I was able to have my parents watch my final task. I turned on my computer so the video could be scene on a bigger screen. My parents sat down on the couch to watch my video called "Fragments of The Past." They were excited to finally view it because of how much time I had spent planning and editing it. My mom paid close attention to the details in the opening scene. She admired the lighting and action scenes. My dad immediately noticed scenes and said it accurately represented my daily routine. Both of my parented liked the part where the title appeared dramatically on the screen. My mom said the camera angles we used made it feel like a real film. My dad commented that the pacing and scene transitions kept his attention the whole time. Production Blog: Editing Pt.4 On Friday, the 27th of February, I finalized editing the footage of my final task. I had all night to work on this because my practice ended early and I wasn't doing anything Saturday. Today's focus was adding the title and credits to the film. I continued to use CapCut as my editing software. All clips were already inside the CapCut folder, with all the necessary edits applied. I used the website artofthetitle.com to help format the title sequence on my video. I looked at many examples in order to understand what to add to my video. This was I could be sure that my video would match the examples. Another website, www.watchthetitles.com was used to look at examples. Then, started typing in the name of the studio and production company onto the first scene. I made sure that each phrase had enough screen time. Then I added the actors names and the film title. Production Blog: Editing Pt.3 On Thursday, the 26th of February, I continued editing the footage for my final task. I had a change of plans because todays baseball practice was cancelled due to rain. I was able to find the time to continue editing the final project. Today's focus was on the last eight scenes of my project. I booted up my computer and opened CapCut. Then, I imported the next eight clips into CapCut and made sure they were in the correct order according to the storyboard. After adding the clips, the total runtime was 2 minutes and 30 seconds. I needed to cut down at least 30 seconds worth of footage. I continued the usual process with the new scenes. I fixed the lighting, edited out excess film, and made sure the audio was clear. I rewatched the entire film and was satisfied with what I had done. I also added a cinematic filter on a all of the scenes because I thought it looked best. Production Blog: Editing Pt.2 On Wednesday, the 25th of February, I continued editing the clips of my final task. Today's focus was adding and trimming down the next eight scenes of the project. I needed to make sure these new scenes matched the storyboard format. I opened CapCut on my computer, and imported the next eight clips.  After adding the clips, I began the trimming process. Three of the scenes were 20 seconds long. I realized that this was already half of the videos allowed time. I managed to trim off a total of 20 seconds from these videos. During the filming process, there were times where the cameraman had started the clips too early or ended the clips too late. Some of the scenes had uneven lighting, so I needed to adjust the brightness and contrast. I had to watch another tutorial to figure out how to change these features. Production Blog: Editing Pt.1 On Tuesday, the 24th of February, I began editing the footage of my final task. Since I was the director and created the storyboard, I wanted to make sure the editing matched the exact vision I had planned. I decided that I would create my own edited version first before comparing it with my group members. Today was a busy day because of school and practice, so I was only able to edit a small portion of the video. I figured it was best if I started from the beginning and at least add the first few clips. I imported the first 8 clips that I had filmed into CapCut. I made sure they were in the correct order according to the storyboard. I made sure the wide shot of my street was placed at the beginning just like we planned. Production Blog: Filming Pt.4 On Saturday, the 21th of February I resumed filming with my group. After coming back from the lunch break, my group was ready to get back to filming. I walked everyone through the next few scenes and then I got to work. The 19th scene was a medium shot of one of my friends walking into the frame and sitting down on the bus stop. I instructed the camera man where to stand. This scene took around 3 takes because I needed to get this scene to a certain length. The 20th scene was an over the shoulder shot of my friend showing me an Instagram reel. This scene took a few takes because at first, the reel was not loading on his phone. However, after connecting to a hotspot, he was able to get the video to run smoothly. The 21st scene was a medium shot. In this scene, I came to a realization that I had left my phone at home. This scene took 2 takes because in the first clip my acting was lousy. I really wanted to sell this scene by getting into character correctly....

Production Blog- Filming Pt.3 On Saturday, the 21th of February I resumed filming with my group. Todays objective was to finish filming the last 12 scenes. The filming location at my house again for these next scenes. The next few scenes were shot in my dining room and outside in the front yard. The 13th scene was a medium shot of me grabbing a banana from the kitchen and hurrying outside. I instructed the camera man where to stand. This scene took around 5 or 6 takes because I wasn't satisfied with the first couple takes. The 14th scene was a shot of my phone buzzing on my bedroom desk. This scene took two takes because one of my group members needed to text my phone in order for it to ring. It took 3 takes to time this up. The 15th scene was a tracking shot of me walking down the sidewalk to the bus stop. This scene took 3 takes because the first two takes had very bad lighting. Production Blog- Filming Pt.2 On Friday, the 20th of February I continued filming with my group. After taking a break and getting some food, I decided to continue filming the next scenes. The filming location was still at my house. The next few scenes was in my bedroom and bathroom. The 7th scene was a close up of my homework. I used an assignment that I had not completed yet as a prop. I instructed the camera man where to stand and use a close up camera angle. The 8th scene was a shot of my placing the homework in my bag quickly. This scene took two takes because after the first shot, I felt that the scene needed dialogue. The 9th scene was a mirror shot of me brushing my teeth. This scene was tricky to film because I didn't want the camera man shown in the scene. Production Blog: Filming Pt.1 On Friday, the 20th of February I began filming with my group. Originally, filming was supposed to begin last week on Friday the 13th. However, I had a baseball game at the Miami Marlins stadium. There was no room for me to film that day so I had to postpone. I was the director for this final task because I designed the story board. The filming location was in my neighborhood. I made sure to use the proper filming angles that each scene was meant to have. I was able to film the first few scenes all in my bedroom. I instructed the camera man where to stand during these scenes and which camera angles to use. Before filming I had created the props that would be used in these first few scenes. Once I had everything set up, I quickly reviewed the game plan with my group. I directed the first scene which was a wide shot of my street during the nighttime. This scene was able to be completed in just one take because it was the perfect length. It was around 6:15am ...

Location- We will be filming different scenes at each of our group mates houses depending on the setting, but mainly we will be filming in a bedroom, kitchen, dining room, bathroom, living room and with exterior shots of the house. Additionally we will film the street outside of a house, along with a sidewalk and bus stop nearby.

Title- Our project will be title "fragments of the past," this title works well with our story because it highlights how the kid went throughout his day struggling. The title will consist of three different fonts. The first font will be TT Ramillas Black. This will be used for the main title because it is a strong, bold font that can grab someone's attention. The next font will be a sweet apricot font. This font is a neat font that will connect to the viewer more and put them in awe. Finally, a serif font will be used for anything serious like subheadings and credits. We will use dark colors that create a dramatic tone, but they will also be strong enough to not blend in with the background. Our title will be large so the audience can read it but not so large to the point where it takes up the entire screen. . Scheduling- 2/19-2/21: Over these three days we will film the opening sequences of our movie. The opening sequences will be the title and the credits which means we will film some background things.  2/22- During this time, we will edit the beginning sequences and make sure they align with the plot.  2/26-2/27- During this time, we will redo any of the opening scenes in case we dislike them. Along with this we will film our main scenes which will take around 2 hours.  2/28- We will edit all of our scenes and align them with the main theme of our story. (precautionary) 3/1- We will re film any scenes that were messed up.

Health and Safety-  To ensure the safety of me and my groupmates, my mom volunteered to watch over us while we film our scenes to make sure, we stay safe throughout the process.  If we use any sharp objects, we will ensure they are all fake and dulled. We will have a foam pit underneath us if we have to climb anything higher than 2 feet and someone there to catch the person. My mom will be equipped with a phone, and a first aid kit incase anything goes wrong while filming.

First Scene- During this scene we will be filming a wide shot of a quiet suburban street early in the morning. The camera will be still to establish the calm setting of the town. This scene is meant to show how normal and peaceful the environment feels. Second Scene- This scene will be a close-up of an alarm clock going off on a bedside table. The sound of the alarm will cut sharply through the silence to signal the start of the teen’s rushed day. Third Scene- During this scene the camera will show a medium shot of the teen turning off the alarm and sitting up in bed. The teen looks tired and stressed. This scene shows exhaustion right from the start of the day. Fourth Scene- This scene will be a close-up of the teen’s phone lighting up with multiple unread messages and missed notifications. We wanted this shot to visually show pressure without dialogue. Fifth Scene- During this scene the teen unlocks the phone, scrolls briefly, and then locks it again.
